Decided to take a break from my commission series, competitions, and training images. I haven't done just a stable pic in ages, and I also decided I needed to re-think where everyone is stabled xD But its more interesting to draw a picture for that than just a journal....

So here is Cowboy and Coyote. Despite the fact that Coyote is a two-year old and Cowboy only a yearling, they are nearly the same height now. Coyote will only grow to about 16 hands, and is nearly finished, where Cowboy will pass her eventually, growing to closer to 16.3, which is why their heights are currently fairly close to each other. Anyway, these two are currently pasture mates. They will remain pasturemates until any foals I have born are weaned, when Soca will move in with them, and Catcher will be added to these two (so, yes, Catcher and Soca currently are pastured together). When we get our new Paintabian mare, we'll see who she gets along with better, she may be added here or with Catcher and Soca. Or move Catcher over early and put the new horse with Soca... The pasture below the stallion training barn is divided with removable fences into 2 for now, so they are next to each other regardless. The mare barn is 10 stalls. Coming in from where the walk way splits between stallion and mare barn (mare on left), the order is Catcher, Soca, and the new mare on the right, with Cowboy then Coyote on the left.

The four broodmares are of course housed together off in their broodmare barn and pastures, on the other side of the farm from the others.

The stallions required way too much thought >.> In the end, Legend gets his own field behind the mare barn. Caffrey is getting too old to be with the other fillies, so he's being moved (cautiously) to be with Fame, Colonel, and Luke. Oddly, Fame is more okay being with other stallions that Legend is. They're behind the stallion barn. If/When Zazi gets here...yeah, no idea where we're putting him. Figure that out later. In the barn, from entry point, its Luke, Caffrey, and eventually Zazi on the left, and Fame, Colonel, and Legend on the right. When Luke and Zazi are gone, we'll move Caffrey into the corner stall, and move Legend into his old stall.

So...yeah xD Since I suck at maps, that's me organizing the farm.

Story! (Because I am incredibly bored >.> Got back from college Sunday and I already want to go back...)

Kaity stood by one of the fences on her property, currently enjoying the sunshine on her skin. The summer was finally arriving. Days were starting to get hot and humid, just a taste of what to expect, but unlike most people in town, she welcomed it. The thin woman truly hated the cold, and would rather deal with side effects of heat than cold. Her eyes travelled around her farm, smiling to herself. They had just celebrated another successful weekend of showing. Legend had upset Catcher in Dressage, placing third to her fourth, with Fame trailing at the back in 7th. Clearly, the judge had appreciated exactness over flair. Coyote had done well, getting a fourth in her halter class, not bad for a first time. Legend had once more best Fame in show jumping, but both boys placed with a first and third. None the less, Kaity was pleased. Yawarda was around the corner, and they were ready. Catcher was an exuberant as ever, and Coyote's intelligence was really showing. The mare held a lot of promise, which pleased her.

Slowly, her blue-silver eyes travelled to the closest field, watching Coyote and Cowboy graze. Cowboy had nearly caught the dark bay in height now. It was astonishing how fast she had grown, from the stubborn weanling that had made such a stir on arrival, to the still stubborn, but workable, almost two-year old now. Kaity just smiled softly. With Caffrey, she had a good threesome to train and start to really show at one time. And with her new broodmares, Kaity already had her next batch planned. Gravure was being bred to a stud from Kiawah Island Equestrian Center, a Dutch Warmblood named KIEC Megalithic Symphony. Amuletta too was going to be bred, but the foal was for the owner of the stallion. Kaity was still working on the breedings for the other two, but wasn't rushing that. She was still excited for any foal.

Abruptly, Cowboy lifted her head from the grass and blasted out a call, looking at Kaity as if asking what exactly she was doing standing there. With a chuckle, Kaity left the field, heading back to the barn. She still had work to do, much as she just wanted to soak up the sun. Work never ended, and she still had papers to fill out and music to find for their show after Yawarda, KIEC's Move to the Music Show...and the arrival of a new mare soon...so much to do, so little time!
